3000 Backers And New Bachelor Introduction!

Hi everybody! Today we passed a really great milestone on Ova Magica's Kickstarter: we officially have 3000 (and more) backers!!! Thank you to every single one of you!!! When I first began development of Ova Magica as a project after work, it would have been very surreal back then to think that a few years later an army of you would be pushing us to the finish line and that it would be an official Nintendo game! Thank you so much!

Bachelor Introduction: Jasper

Clover Town is home to many different people from all walks of life; you've already met the strong and confident Flint, to the meek and pure Saphir, but the town has its own share of jokers and playboys too! Meet Jasper!

A brash, rough and tumble jokester who lives life on the wind, Jasper has known nothing but hard work in order to secure his future and achieve what he has - and he doesn't accept criticism from anybody for it. Although having struggled his way through his life has given him an abundance of confidence, he's insecure because of his background, and is easily provoked when he thinks someone is judging his struggles. His fierce but loyal personality is matched by his faithful blob companion Tiga! Having become a somewhat notorious steam-board champion, you can find him zipping around Clover perfecting his board technique. Will Jasper sweep you off your feet?

Players nurture their plants in-game by nurturing themselves in the real world, completing evidence-based wellbeing exercises like stretching, breathing, and expressing gratitude.

Practice showing kindness to others by sharing supportive messages and plant cuttings with other players in Kinder World.  Collective player choices like these, and in-game events will influence the growth of a shared Community Tree over time.

New language: French added! And reward highlight!

Hi everyone! The update post for today is about the language selection that will be available in the game. In addition to the previously announced set, thanks to Top Hat Studios we are now able to add another language!

Announcement: French language

On top of the existing languages already promised on the campaign description, today we're happy to say another will be joining the list for international friends! French will be added to the list of official translations and languages in the game!

We hope that this will allow even more people to enjoy taking care of a farm and meeting blob friends!

Reward Highlight: Keychains!

In today's post, we also want to highlight another one of the great and cute rewards available for Ova Magica's campaign. These are the artistic keychains! Attach these to your key-ring, or maybe just let them loose off a pin/peg at home. Either way, these are a brilliant way to lighten the mood and inject a bit of cuteness into your life! They make the perfect accompaniment to the enamel pins, which you can use to decorate your favourite jumper, bag, or shirt.

Featuring awesome and adorable chibi art by Ichigo Ranch, the keychains will be a great memento of your time spent in Clover Town and you be able to pick your choice from several designs. Available as tier pledge rewards from the Deluxe First Harvest Limited Edition onwards, or as an individual a-la-carte physical add-on!

Being a teenager is tough, but it’s tougher when you’re the daughter of Thanatos, the Angel of Death. Prim’s father has forbidden her from entering the Land of the Living, but a recurring dream about a strangely familiar human boy crying out for help might just force her to break that rule – and discover whether Thanatos’ warnings were right all along.  

PRIM is a 2D point-and-click adventure from German developer Common Colors, set in the beautiful, hand-drawn Land of the Dead. Final Stretch Goals Reveal!

Hi everybody! Thank you for your patience as I see a few of you have been waiting for this update since the last stretch passed a few hours ago. Thank you for all the support in helping us get past another stretch! The photo mode will now be added to the game and you can enjoy taking some funny pictures with your blobs. What kind of funny and goofy photo stand-in themes and poses would you like to see? If you have ideas, don't hesitate to comment!

New Stretch Goals

And now it's time to reveal our final two stretch goals! It's really amazing how far we've all come together and almost unbelievable to me that we might actually reach all the goals at this level. Please look forward to it!

NPCs join you on expedition

Up next is the stretch goal for NPC expeditions! This will add to the game the possibility that NPCs can join your team when you visit the strange blob worlds on expeditions. Of course they only do that if you are good enough friends :)! They support you with their blob in battle and you can also use the special abilities of their blobs! For example, Charoi's bat blob can help you catch bugs. Depending on which character accompanies you you'll see special events and dialogues as you make these journeys that will help deepen the experience! For example, if you hire Emerald, the Ranger, to accompany you to the Mystic Forest world, perhaps he'll have some comments to make regarding the nature of this fantastic wooden land? Or if Lapis, the best blob trainer in Clover Town, is with you, you're more likely to stand a chance in the particularly dangerous blob worlds.

Blob Fusion

The last stretch goal is the Blob Lab! This will be a new location within the special blob league building, which is also where blob tournaments and training is held! This lab will give you access to some new features for the hardcore players and customizers, such as the fusion ability where you will be able to experiment with blob DNA to help you get the look of your blobs exactly the way you want them!

In this update I give you a few more insights into Frigus, the winter season, and the works of our community.

Winter Season: Frigus

Frigus is the cold and snowy season in Ova Magica. Because of the frost, you can't grow plants outside. So you should try to unlock the greenhouse as soon as possible and commission it from Charoi the Builder!

In Ova Magica not only the activities and blobs you meet change with every season. The environment also changes and sometimes completely new paths open up for you;-)

Hi everyone! Today is a special day especially for the theme of romance... so today's update is all about that topic!

Valentine's feature: Character cards!

As you may have guessed, today's update is a special feature dedicated to all the bachelors and bachelorettes in Ova Magica! Who will catch your fancy as you explore Clover Town? Is your type strong and straight forward, or a jokester who lives life on the wind? Come and meet them all today! Remember, that no matter how you to choose to create your own character, you can date anybody you choose.

Over the next few updates we will also have some more in-depth teasers and features about specific characters so please look forward to those!

Reward highlight: Valentine's Special

Fitting the occasion there is also a special reward for Ova Magica available that we want to highlight: the Valentine's Special! With this reward, you can feature yourself and a loved one in the game with your own personalised, custom NPCs. If the two of you love cute things and/or want to make a special gesture to show the world how much you love them then this is a perfect reward for you both!
